About The Institution

We’ll support you as you work towards gaining progression onto a globally recognised degree. We’ll help you to join the growing number of international graduates who proudly claim they were ‘made in Sheffield’.

The University of Sheffield International College and its programmes are provided by Study Group in collaboration with the University of Sheffield. Over 50,000 students from 145 countries trust Study Group to provide life-changing learning experiences every year. With over 20 years’ experience, our international programmes help you to bridge the academic, cultural and language gap between where you are, and where you wish to be.

The International College gives you the perfect introduction to studying abroad.

For many international students, studying abroad brings some challenges that need a little extra support.

You’ll need to be able to learn your chosen subject in English with confidence. You may find you need time to get used to new ways of teaching and more independent learning. And you have to do all of this while getting used to how things work in a foreign country, far from home. This is why we are here to help you get used to you new surroundings.

Everything we do at the University of Sheffield is based on one simple but powerful idea: we won't settle for ordinary. That’s how we’ve become one of the top 100 universities in the world. That’s why every one of our academic departments is a centre of excellence. That’s why we have an outstanding track record for research and partnerships with industry. That’s why the International College has a bespoke new building, ideal for international students and central to the city.

The campus is set around the city centre, with all departments just a short walking distance from each other, or a very short ride on the bus or tram.

We are continually investing to provide you with the perfect environment for success. The new International College is just one of the new buildings on the campus. The new Diamond building will provide undergraduate teaching spaces for the Faculty of Engineering as well as facilities for students from the rest of the University. We have also been investing in the buildings across our campus to make sure you'll have the best facilities.

You will have 24-hour access to the innovative Information Commons - a multi-purpose learning environment and library. Each University learning space has been created to suit student and teacher needs. These range from a lecture theatre in a historical church to those currently under construction.

The University of Sheffield International College works closely with the University and we pride ourselves on making international students truly welcome. The University has 5,500 international students from over 117 countries worldwide. Sheffield is a welcoming and distinctive place where international students can thrive, first at the International College and then at the University
